I had the same idea, but never posted it. My thought was that you could get away without doing any major modifications by simple replacing the seat with a rack. Of course, you would also want something to plug the holes where the sissy bar went, unless that is where the rack hooked in.... Your next problem would be the voltage regulator... I was thinking about getting a chrome one (I've seen 'em in some magazines). The you'd need to reroute some wires (but mine would be hidden by the leather from my saddlebag yoke.....
Anyway, if any of you metalworkers comes up with a solution, I'll order the second one!
